Pictures Of New York City Parks and Recreation

PS
Resting on the High Line park after doughnuts, before beers

Trees, benches and boardwalk on the High Line;
The series of pictures below zoom in from this spot, showing what you can see beyond when you stand here:
a spur of the High Line, another covered bridge, 10th Avenue, the Hudson River all the way to the Statue Of Liberty

Looking the other way, you have the 10th Avenue Overlook amphitheater

The "Chelsea Thicket"

Much of the original railway has been incorporated into the High Line park

High class busking on the High Line

You can have beer & wine at Terroir wine garden on the High Line, and avoid all that healthy walking

Is that a sleepwalker, or just someone who's had too much at Terroir?

Wazzup?!

Not any old sleepwalker - he's the Sleepwalker

Best times to stroll the High Line is before 9 am or after 9 pm

At Jackson Square (which is actually a triangle) bounded by Greenwich Ave, Horatio St, and Eighth Ave.

The arch at Washington Square Park (located at the foot of Fifth Avenue).
The park that has "a tradition of celebrating nonconformity."

The square dates back to 1826, while the arch was added in 1889 to celebrate the centennial of
George Washington's inauguration here as president (New York City was the federal capital initially)

I see what they mean about nonconformity

PS
Never did figure out where the grand piano in Washington Square Park comes from
(it's not there during the day)

PS
The Pond in Central Park - is that an egret?

PS
Bethesda Fountain & Terrace in Central Park

Belevedere "Castle" (actually, just a mirador), in Central Park
