Ted's Excellent Pictures Taken On Roatán Island (Honduras)
December 2019
Half Moon Bay at West End, where I stayed on my 1st and 3rd weeks,
as seen from the airplane just before arrival
Christmas tree, Roatán style
Roatán was a British colony in the 19th century and is fully English- and Spanish-speaking
Anyway, Spanish is so easy 😉
Many Canadian visitors, Canadian residents, and Canadian-owned businesses like this one

as seen from 2nd floor of Sundowners Beach Bar
It's Happy Hour!
Mangrove Bight, right next to Half Moon Bay, as seen from the airplane.
I stayed opposite the private property built over the water, on my 3rd week
- at a guesthouse called Casa Canuck!
I've seen some giant turtles in my travels (Galapagos, Seychelles), but that one takes the cake!
On the way by water taxi from West End to West Bay, where I stayed for my 2nd week
West Bay

Even as a James Bond or Paul McCartney fan, I'm not sure I would get in a third-world water taxi called Live and Let Die!
More Roatán humour, at the café-bar called Bean Crazy
Honduras currency - the Lempira (HNL)
Named after the 16th century leader of Central American native peoples (pictured on the first note),
who lead local resistance to the Spanish conquistadors.
Would you believe - the 1 Lempira note at the top is worth only 4¢ (25 HNL to the USD)
(And I thought the US was holding on to their one dollar bill for too long!)
